Jeff Shapiro is a renown ceramicist utilizing the 1,000 year old traditional wood fired anagama technique of Bizen, as well as other firing processes. He spent 9 years in Japan living, learning, and working at a number of studios. During that time, he also built a studio, house, and kiln on the Japan Sea Coast under the auspices of his patron Kabumoto Nobuo.
His work can be found in numerous prestigious collection, as well as public and private museums around the world. He has given workshops and lectures in over 12 countries, and has built 2 wood fire kilns in Italy.

Wendy Hollender, Botanical Illustrator, Accord, NY
Wendy Hollender is a botanical artist, illustrator, instructor, and author whose internationally-recognized career has spanned decades. She is a leading expert in using colored pencils and watercolor pencils to create detailed botanical drawings and paintings. Her illustrations have been published in the New York Times; O, The Oprah Magazine; Real Simple; Good Housekeeping; and Martha Stewart Living magazine. She is currently an instructor at the New York Botanical Garden and leads workshops at her farm in Accord, New York, at the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Hawaii, and Europe.

Jonathan Nedbor, Blacksmith, Accord, NY
A metalsmith for 51 years and a full-time blacksmith for 49 years, Jonathan is a popular teacher and demonstrator, able to share his insights into the forging process. He specializes in historic forged ironwork focusing on the early hardware of New York's Hudson Valley. Much of his work is used on historic houses and museums, many of which are listed on the National Register. He also designs and produces contemporary ironwork of all types, including, furniture, railings, and household ironwork.
Jonathan's classes and demonstrations seek to communicate the beauty and simplicity of a pure forged approach to shaping iron. He covers tool making, forge welding, scrolls, approaches to authentic reproduction of historic hardware, and much more.

Paula Kucera, Fiber Artist, New Paltz, NY
Paula Kucera’s background is in the arts, with 25 years of experience as a mural-painter in the interior design industry. After moving to the farm in New Paltz about 16 years ago, she decided to raise her own sheep. Now she makes her own wool for yarn and felting, in addition to harvesting her own plants to create natural dyes.
